چکیده

The significance of XML technology for sharing data over the Internet is being rapidly recognised. In this paper, we examine the security problems related to XML data and present our approach, the XML Security model, for enforcing security policies in XML based Information systems. Our methodology has been based on the study of the XML data model, on the identification of the security requirements of XML Information systems and on the survey of security models which have been proposed to support the conventional data models (relational, object-oriented, hypertext etc). The proposed approach takes into account and exploits the specific characteristics of XML data and incorporates the flexibility of Role based Access Control policies.

Due to the increasing number of documents, XML, effectively organize these documents in order to retrieve useful information from them is essential. A possible solution is performed on the clustering of XML documents in order to discover knowledge. Clustering XML documents is a key issue of how to measure the similarity between XML documents. Conventional clustering of text documents using a do...

XML Data Integrity Based on Concatenated Hash Function

Data integrity is the fundamental for data authentication. A major problem for XML data authentication is that signed XML data can be copied to another document but still keep signature valid. This is caused by XML data integrity protecting. Through investigation, the paper discovered that besides data content integrity, XML data integrity should also protect element location information, and c...

From XML to RDF: Syntax, Semantics, Security, and Integrity (Invited Paper)

In this paper we evaluate security methods for extensible Markup Language (XML) and the Resource Description Framework (RDF). We argue that existing models are insufficient to provide high assurance security for future Web-based applications. We begin with a brief overview of XML access control models, where the protection objects are identified by the XML syntax. However, these approaches are ...

A Secure XML Database

In this paper, we define a security model [14] for a native XML database which supports the XUpdate language. Our model is inspired by the SQL security model which is the most famous security model for database. We first define a generic access control model for tree data structures. Then, we apply our model to an XML database which supports the Xupdate language.

Supporting XML Security Models Using Relational Databases: A Vision

As the secure distribution and sharing of information over the World Wide Web becomes increasingly important, the needs for flexible and efficient support of access control systems naturally arise. Since the eXtensible Markup Language (XML) is emerging as the format of the Internet era for storing and exchanging information, there have been, recently, many proposals to extend the XML model to i...
